I was wondering what kind of logs are ok to put in a snake cage?
I have cedar in mine right now and I have to take them out because I found out they are toxic. If I coated the cedar in varithane would I still beable to leave them in there? Im thinking Maple might be alright because thats where Maple Syrup comes from. Could someone please leave me some info?

Greatly Appreciated!

Pretty much all hardwoods are ok. Skip the cedars, pines, and firs. Coniferous trees/branches and reptiles simply don't mix.

My cage is made of pine. Is this a concern?

Depends on how you made it.

What do you mean by how I made it?

Well, if you made it out of giant pine logs dripping with resin, then that would be bad. If you made it out of plywood that happens to be pine (common) and sealed it with marine enamel or epoxy paint, then that would be ok.

I made it from plywood pine and the pine you use to make furniture it was the painted with latex paint.

would a pine-framed screen door on top of a glass tank be any threat?

or you could get plastic trees.
