These last two eggs were about mid body in my 2nd egg-bound Cal King (the one who was supposed to be a male). I thought I'd let them work their way down a bit before I messed around with them and over the last week, they made their way down.

Anyway, the 1st one we pulled out of her was HUGE! We drained 10cc of fluid out of it and there was still a ton of "semi solid" matter left in it. You can see the "semi solid" matter just outside of the larger egg. Well, now her struggle is over and she can begin restoring her energy for next year.

I did learn a lot during this whole situation and here's what I learned...

1st: Don't be too trusting of the "guaranteed sex" of your stock. Double check if you know how. Trust me, it's worth it!

2nd: It is much easier, if possible, to work the next egg in line right up to the vent. Then take a medium sized probe and hold her cloaca open. If you can see the egg, drain it! This way you don't need to puncture her body unnecessarily and she gets a chance to stretch herself out before the egg comes through.

3rd: Sterilize a pair of pliers and pull the half drained egg out. It will come out 100 times easier than pushing it out especially if it's been drained. Just make sure the pliers are sterile and that you don't pinch her flesh.

I did learn more than just that, but that is info I couldn’t find in books or on the net. That stuff is knowledge that I had to figure out for myself... but I will gladly share with all of you! ;)

Disclaimer!!!
The above methods worked for me. I will not be held responsible if anyone else attempts the same and causes injury to their animal...

Cool glad to hear things worked out. I had to aspirate an egg in one of my corns last week & she passed it no problem the day after along with a huge poop as it was "bunging her up" as well. I orginally just let her eat to see if the food would help her pass it as I have been successful doing so before. In her case the egg slid down but consipated her as well. She couldn't pass the egg or her solid waste until aspiration was involved. Things all worked out well in the end though. Glad to hear your ordeal is over also. Mark
