Hello All,
I want to buy a tortoise and I have done a lot of researc but I'm still not sure what would be a good one to start out with. Just want everyone's opinon's

Assuming that you have already taken into consideration that these adorable chelonians live WELL over 100 years of age...
How much space do you have to offer a tortoise? If you have ample space, I would say a redfoot or yellowfoot are great options to consider. Although I have no personal experience with Greek's, from what I understand they can also be a great choice :)
I would say a redfoot. They get to a pretty good size of about 12 inches (someone correct me if im wrong). They wont need a massive cage as adults. They eat toooons of fruits and veggies and their care really isnt hard. For my 4 inch male I had him in a 3foot long by 2 foot wide rubbermaid with no lid. I prefer no lid because then they get lots of air and I can have lots of big plants, and you can clip a heat lamp on the side.
