What kind of substrate do you think would be best for a Waterdragon? I use ZooMeds Repti-bark right now but I don't like it. It is leaving a red color on my baby's underside! Do you think the ESU Reptile Lizard Liner Terrarium Carpet is a good choice? I use it for my gecko & tree frogs now.
Thanks!

I love using cage carpeting, however... I'm not sure if it is appropriate for water dragons, as I've never owned one.

We use Orchid Bark from Home Depot and Art Knapps. It is the same quality as Repti-bark, but doesn't have all that dye and stuff. It also costs about a third the price too! But be sure to buy Orchid Bark, not Orchid Mix. It holds humidity, which is a little harder to maintain with the carpet, and you can live plant in it too! Another way to maintain humidity. Hope this helps you out,

Thanks I know I was going to do the bark & soil when I build a big viv for Joker but do you think it will work ok for a 36"x12"x 18" tank? I want something that is easy to clean (or replace) and won 't hurt him with fungi or bacteria build ups too quickly. How often do you clean/replace your bark?
Thanks!
We use CareFresh for our water dragon. Easy to clean, inexpensive, etc. If you want better quality stuff go for the Bed-A-Beast or Lizard Litter. Those are great choices in my opinion. =)

What about the calcium sands? is there too high a risk for impaction or low humidity?
Samba is this (http://www.petco.com/product_info.asp?familyid=10791&sku=6638018023&tab=5&dept_id=2549&c1=2549&c2=&c3=&ct1=Substrate&ct2=&ct3=) what you use? And if so how long have you used it?
Thanks
