Correct, definitive taxonomy may still be up in the air, but it is what has been called (as Andy has said) Apalachicola lowland king, blotched king and/or Goin's kingsnake or "goini". Wonderfully variable and at any rate, a L. getula ssp. sometimes said to be eastern (L.g. getula) x Florida (L.g. floridana). Kenny Krysko has done much research on the snakes for a few years now.

Thank you Andy..

Mark, I was wondering just how long it would take you to reply :)

I've still gotta probe it. I might end up keeping it, not sure yet.

Renee, keep it and pair up with another. You'll be amazed at how many different looks you'll get in one clutch. I had a female that would produce clutches of 20 two times a year.

I suppose it would have been simpler for me to say Blotched King lol. I hope it retains those bands a lottle bit when it ages because thatmwould look really neat!

They are really cool snakes. I have a little girl myself. Can't wait to pair her up and for her to get bigger. I love Florida kings and this is one of the many varients/other species or what every those nutty guys with phd's decide!
