Chaos has three black marks on her underside and tail, and I don't know what they are. It honestly looks like someone took a cigarette and pressed it onto her. She can't have been burned by MY heat source because it Hovers over her cage. And it doesn't look new, it looks like she's had it for a while.

I appologize for the poor quality photo...

If the pic doesn't work, the image URL is http://www.bloopdiary.no-ip.com/users/user4477/BlackMark.jpg

Anyone know what it is?

It could be scale rot, it is under the scale right. If so you will have to get it checked.
Just a while ago there was a good string on this
I can't recal on what topic forum though.

If it WAS scale rot...is it contagious?

depends on the type of rot it is, its not very hard to clear up either.. since it's a ribbon they're usually more aquatic so they need lots of water... Usually higher humidity will clear up any scale rot.

You can use a bit of peroxide on it as well to clean it, and a bit of mineral oil/polysporin to clear it up.

SerpentLust - my IJ had it a while back, so check out the morelia forum. I think the title of the thread was "pink scales turning brown." She's shed twice since and it's pretty much cleared up now, but I still put some polysporin on pinkish spots.
