i've seen them before but after seeing jeff s. 2 gtp's i must get one,but before i do how big do they get?and are they any more aggressive than say a cal king or a ball p?also any special requirments for them?

first off almost ne type of snake is more aggressive compared to a BP.......no these snakes live in trees so they are a little high strung....i am not to sure how big they get ...all i know is that they are not a big snake by all means they are not thick like alot of pythons they are slender..they are also quiet expensive they are like 1500-1600 for a pair

i've been looking around on the net and they say they are or can be pretty mean(duh they're snakes/animals)but also they need to be misted everyday and need all sorts of crazy cages,which i don't have right now ;) so i'll just keep on researchin.

ne snake can be pretty mean.....just like ppl they have there moments i used to work with a cooks tree boa and it was mean as hell until u got it out of its cage......so i am just going buy that because they are both a type of aboreal snake

As with all tree boas, GTP's tend to be a little high strung, but they can be quite docile as well, they seem to go either way. They are more demanding in their husbandry requirements than many other boids, although it is not as complicated as all the caresheets will have you believe. But there is little room for error in keeping them. They are a medium sized snake that can happily live in a 2x2x2 enclosure it's whole life. The prices usually start at about $1000 each and go up according to lineage and locale.

well i just got off the phone the guy that i bought my ball p's from(pretty good buddt of mine)and he says he can get me one if i want and the best price he could give was 700$,hows that?is that a good price?also he said i could proly get one for 500$ at a show,is that true?

they would be wild caught gtp at that price. Still a very pretty snake, doesn't bite very docile and dont eat much, doesn't take up much space either

What was the cause of death?

this snake actually died about a year ago I had got 3, 1 died shortly after from a tumor near it's heart. and another had mass amount's of parasites we treated it for a while, tube feeding, needles every other day, just when it started eating on it's own and looking good it died.....the 3rd is live and well, doing good in a buddy's collection, she never had a problem from day one!!!

I'm sorry to hear you guys had such a rough time with your Green Trees. Hopefully you'lkl have thje oppertunity to work with CBB next time.

I like these Pythons............ I still don't think I'd start a project with them but I'd like to keep one for fun. I'll probbably wait until Corey Produces them in few years and get one from him. :)

Thanks for reducing the pic Darren ..I don't have a clue how to do that(computer iliterate)...The Gtp in the pic is a biack type we had a pair of biaks and one that was sold to us as an aru.......And I do want to work with them again I just got pretty frustrated with them thats why we got rid of the last one....But it's close by so I get to see her and when he breeds her I plan to get a pair too.

Yes.....I had to beat up Joe pretty bad to get him to let go of his last GTP...............now it's all mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Joe just comes by for congical visits every 2 months...lol

Hey mo, ive noticed that jeff hasn't replied so ill do it for him. They are wonderful snakes, the one he has had since the day of the show and the other which i believe is the female he has had for a couple of months now. The female is very tame, Jeff has had it since it was very small and handles it everyday. It is getting larger and still very calm. He considers it my little sisters snakes as she wont let him ever get rid or it, and she tells me that when she spends the weekend, she lets it hang off her arm for several hours a day. She usually does this when she i watching t.v. and has never had a problem. They are though as others mentioned very high strung, and can attach with absolute lightning speed as i found out when i tried to get a pic of Jeffs new one the day we picked him up. He was very calm with the guy taking him out of the tank, but as soon as i went near....wham... about a half inch from my face. So i believe its like any other animal. If you work with them and they recognize you, they may become somewhat tame. But again like every animal, when frightened they will use any defence they have. They do stay fairly small compared to other species...i believe 4'-5', i could be wrong, please correct me if i am, and they are fairly slender, even when adaults. Beautiful animanls though, and yes extremely expensive about 1000 and up, depending usually on the amount of yellow, or blue that is on the body.:)
