Noticing again that many members, are exceeding the maximum signature allowance of - 4 - lines (vertically). We ask that you please reduce the size of your sigs if they are exceeding this. Reason there is a limit on signature size is that if they are too long, it takes up too much space in the threads, and if everyone had such lengthy sigs, some threads would be mostly made up of sigs :rolleyes: They can just get to be a little overwhelming. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation :)

Because i've seen this problem many times in the past and some members using bigger monitors with higher resolutions, they don't even know that they exceed the 4 line limit, i have an idea:sun:
Why don't do it with words. For ex, someone can only write 1-180 words and no need posting for that issue anymore:thumbsup:

Not a bad idea, and something along there would be a good idea, but really who wants to count out each one of their words on their posts. Unless of course Jeff can set it that way.

YES! I was thinking that about that last time they sent the message out about 4 line sigs... it changes with resolution!

Correct. That is exactly what i mean. In a small monitor you will see 6 lines, while in a big monitor 4 or even 3 lines.

Personally speaking, when I see a sig that's just a big block of text, I usually skip right over it anyway. It's visual clutter that's getting in the way of my reading the threads and if the same poster is trying to make multiple points in a spirited discussion that huge block of nonsequiturs underneath their post is just plain irritating.

More isn't always better.

thegino, it's not the amount of words in the POST it's your signature... so you'd only have to count once.

Okay everyone, we've been noticing again that people are exceeding the 4 line limit, if you're one of these people, we ask that you please shorten your signatures to the limit of 4 lines. And YES, a blank line is considered one line.. Thanks for your cooperation.
