The best glass we have found is salvage glass, the type used for shelving. It is thick and strong, and will last longer than standard window glass. Your local building supply store will sell the plastic tracks for it, just make sure the width of the track will accommodate the glass. We used to use the jewelry case locks on them when we used sliding glass, but all of our cages are fixed front glass, with tops or bottom fronts that open for feeding/cleaning.

yea thats an awesome price, but calgary is a little far
Why not go to the Re-Use Centre on the service road for glass and cut it to size... and the glass track and lock you can get at Rona, Home Depot, or Canadian Tire.. Just my 2 cents

Glass is free. Go to a window place. All the houses in Canada are switching from aluminum frames to vinyl. So they just throw away all that old glass when they do an install. But they want the aluminum (Al is almost a precious metal these days!!). Then, you just cut the glass to any size you want Piece of cake. Glass cuts like butter.
