I have a cornsnake that's a few months old and I'm feeding him pinkies. Every places I checked it said that I should give him one pinkie/week (which is what I do) but I saw on this forum to give him once every 3 or 4 days, is that right to do?
I'm asking because my snake is in very good health but I find him a bit small compared to the pics I saw. Thanks for helping, and if you want to see him, I just put his pic in my gallery.

How big is your snake?

He's about 25 inches long. I know corns don't grow big like pythons or boas but I still think he's kinda.. thin? lol

I'm not really worried for his health though, he's energetic and all, I was just wondering if it was ok to feed him at intervalles of 4 days instead of 7.

Thats pretty big for pinkeys. Im feeding hoppers to my 1.5 foot milk. I would think that that shake could prolly eat young mice. Dont let his size fool you they can eat bigger than you think.
I would at LEAST get him on hopers. Try a small mouse and see what happens. I think you will be suprized.

I'm gonna re-try with a fuzzie in case he wants to eat it. Thanks a lot for your time and suggestions Lucas :)
I hope my baby gains a little more weight soon ;p

Just a note if he doesn't eat the fuzzy try 2 or 3 pinky.

You have a very nice corn - excellent colors! You can certainly try with either increasing his feedings to every 5 days, or giving him two pinkies a meal for a couple weeks, or giving him fuzzies - he looks as if he could easily take fuzzies without making too much of a bulge in his belly. I would increase the size of prey gradually, and your plan of giving a fuzzy is a good one. I always find they have a growth spurt when they get onto food that has hair and stronger bones than pinkies do.
good luck,

Okay, thanks tons to all of you for your advice. I really appreciate that you give some of your time to help people like me who are new with snakes so we can learn and care for them as much as possible.

If that's your snake pictured in your avitar.. WOW! That's a nice amel! :D
If your corn was hatched in 2002, up his food size like everyone said for sure. Corns can grow like mad if you let them! Enjoy your snake and post some more pics! :D

i deffenitly agree your snake could easly take a fuzzy or even possible close to a hopper.
