Flooring?

I am currently buildning plans for my Colubian Boa Enclosure. It'll be 8X4X(3 or 4, haven't decided on height yet). I was curious if it is ok to use carpet as flooring. My father owns a carpet store and i can get various indoor or outdoor carpet for cheap and very soft. All carpets are synthetic made of nylon or plastic. Is this a safe form of substrate? I'm not sure if it toxic to snakes or not. It would be very easy to clean/replace for me and seems to be the most attractive way to floor my custom enclosure. Any feedback would help, Thank You.

Yeah, Indoor/Outdoor would be safe. Be sure to have 2-3 pieces of it so that you can wash one when your snake goes to the bathroom and can immediatly place another one in while the first is drying and being sanitized. Also with nylon carpet, if any "strings" are comming out, be sure to either cut the "strings" or replace the carpet so that you snake does not get caught. Also, be sure to wash and sanitize the carpet before placing it in the cage. Also, if you are looking for something very cheap, you could use Newspaper. It doesn't look as attractive, but it is very cheap and can be cleaned up quite easily and quickly.

Yeah i just didn't want to deal with any loose substrate, but still have a half decent look. I had paper towel in her starter cage but i'm pretty sure she didn't enjoy it that much but now the mulch seems to make a big mess as she enjoys removing half of it with her tail everytime i remove her from her cage.

Yeah, they like to do that!! My ball likes to hide under the papertowel. He's like, forget that stupid hide he has for me, I like the papertowel better. Loose substrate, especially reptibark, are a bad idea!! The snake has the possibility of swallowing pieces of bark if you feed in the cage, plus they are a good source of mites. I used that at first for the same reason most people to, because of looks. But no longer. I've found, though it don't look as good, papertowel and newspapers is the easiest to use.

Here is what is going in my big burm's cage as flooring, and it's not too expensive, probably cheaper than carpet
It's called shower surround, and it is waterproof, and looks nice, and can be cleaned easily. One 8x4 sheet was $12 at Lowe's or home depot, but is available at any home improvement store.

Evil Karot - My BCC likes to do that too. I use jungle bark for his substrate, and he loves to burrow in it. I think he thinks he's a sand boa. :)
