I have my female 5 foot boa in her rubbermaid, and she is doing awesome. The rubbermaid lid snaps into place, and I have 2 others and a tank on top.Safe right?Wrong! She was halfway out yesterday, she had popped the top off and was trying to escape......what can I do?

What I have done is use velcro under the lid lip of my rubbermaids. it works but I would also recommend using office clips...they are really strong..and black...I can't desribe them well...anyways both methods work and both are cheap. :)

If I have niether of those things available I resort to using weight to hold it down until I can get clips of velcro.

how bout bungee cords??? and if there's no where for you to hook the ends to you can always drill small holes on the sides.... cool thing is that the lower you make the wholes on the sides the tighter the cord will be. hope that helps....

Hi there Dragon and balls:

I know the feeling well, although I always expected an escape sonner or later I use the same rubber maid tubs from show box to large sweater boxes. I got teraline cord I think for $3.00 a roll and tie to ends of the boxes with a hang mans knot. I think any rope and knot will work as lond as its strong and tight.

Check out this link I posted in the Cage forum to help you and others with smart sneaky boas aiming for freedom:

I use bungee cords or velcro straps on my rubbermaids. No escapes so far.

Yup, Velcro. I have it on my BP's cage, its cheap and looks good too. You can buy it at WAL-MART and Canadian Tire.

Why not a permanant enclosure? Building your pets home is half the fun.
