I love parazap and use it the first 5 days of every month to prevent parasites. The veterinary surgeons with whom I worked are the ones who turned me on to it. They noticed a large increase in parasite blooms after abdominal surgeries such as for impaction or eggbinding. After giving Parazap to the owners to use for a week the instance of parasitic blooms went down almost 75%.

It's not effective against all types of parasites, such as protozoa, but is fantastic for the pinworms and hookworms beardies get so commonly from eating raw foods.

eyespy is it safe to use even on healthy beardies. Just to keep away the parasites. If so will you tell me more about it. what doses to give and how often. Cause i know my vet would give it to me but i don't want to administer it the wrong way.

Thanks,
Jamie

I'm also very interested about hearing more of this Parazap, sounds like a good preventative supplement to have around.

I have the same question as jakejeff, can it be given by dusting their food items?

Parazap... hmm... I've heard of it, but if you're dragon HAS parasites, take it to the vet. They can give meds AND make sure that the parasite isn't the protozoa type. Also, make sure to keep you're dragon hydrated while on meds. I am unsure if it can be used as a ''preventative'' type thing... that's a toughie, lol. I'll get back to ya. :-p

Same here i want it as prevenitive meds. Luckly i have had my beardies for 2 years without any problems (sept. for breeding but thats another thing) but once every few months i take a stool sample just to have checked out. (just incase). But if there is something out there that can be used to help prevent parasites i would love to know more .

I put a pinch of Parazap in the water I use to soak their Repcal pellets and it works great. I emailed Val Newell, the creator of Parazap to ask for dosing info and he said just the small amount you'd use to dust with calcium or multivitamin powder is fine. He states you cannot overdose as it's all natural.

I don't buy that things can't be overdosed just because it's natural (arsenic and hemlock are herbals!) but there are lots of breeders who use Parazap and haven't had any problems using it preventatively.
