Hey every
I have not sold anything over the internet before and i was just wondering if i were to say for instance build cages and decide to sell them on this site, how would i make the exchange for the money and the cage??
Please let me know, thanks in advance
Someone would request a certain cage, you'd give them a price quote. If they agreed, they'd give you a payment of, say, 20% (to make sure that they don't back out after the cage is built). Then when they come to pick up the cage (or when you deliver it to them), they pay you the rest of the money either by cash, money order, e-mail money transfer or maybe paypal. You could take personal cheques, but if you do, make sure you specify that the cheque (for the full amount) will need to clear before you can give them the cage.

Also, if you want all cash up front, I have found the easiest way for me is ordering with a Money Order. They send you the money order and you send the cage...be sure if you're shipping so specify whether you or the consumer is paying shipping charges.

Alright i see. But how would i ship a cage?? wouldnt it be too big??
Yep, you don't ship cages. Unless the buyer wants to pay TONS for shipping.

well, you can ship the cage, but it really depends on what the cage is made of and how big the cage is. I get all of my smaller cages shipped and the shipping is like $9. They are made of plastic and are about the size of a 10 gal glass aquarium. But the larges cages made of plastic start getting more expensive. Cages and racks systems made of melamine are hardly ever shipped due to the weight of the materials and size of the unit. There is one person online that biulds rack systems out of melamine, then disassmebles them for shipping. It still cost a little more, but with a screwdriver you can put the cage together in about 15 minutes.
I wish I could remember the site I saw that on :(

Also, I have shipped huge cages and its cost more then the cage itself so I dont do that anymore I deliver iut myself for way less[roadtrip for me and whoevers driveing] or I let them pick it up but it usually requires a trailer.

Well since i am not old enough to drive that could be a problem. Im not sure how far my parents would be willing to take me too. So is there really anyhting else i could do?
I've had issues with Paypal. It's great for a buyer but not a receiver.
For large melamine enclosures your market would probably be the local area.
