i know BP's are colorblind. does this mean that if i have the red "night light" on or a blue one he cant see me? cause the other day when i was feeding him he seemed to notice my movement even tho the room was all black except for the red lgiht. thanks

It wouldn't make a difference what colour the light was cos it is still a light and he would be able to feel the vibrations you were giving off, and using his heat pits he could see you with no light at all.

They can feel the heat coming from you and they use that to build a kind of picture.

Well, how do you think snakes strike with such accuracy if they can't see what they are striking at? I believe that snakes have pretty decent vision. Some scientists say it is more like the vision of a bird than we once thought....

Anyway, I had a similar question myself about a month back. My question was - If those heat pits are infared triggered for hunting...If someone uses an infared heat bulb, is the snake always going to think that heat spot is prey? Im still not quite sure about this one. Good question though.
