Very neat idea slate you'll have to let us know how it works out.

its' working well so far i put it together yesturday and put fake plants in today. The slate seems to hold the heat in the tiles very well. And the heat is just supplied from the above heat source. So the tile stays warm.
She seems to like it so far. i'll see how she is a week from now.

no UTH? When I get a 33gallon tank I really want to make a set-up like that!! Nice job drewlowe!

Nope i don't use UTH. The slate seems to hold the heat in very well from the heat lamp. Oh by the way this is a 20gal. long. And remember before going to by the slate you need to make sure you measure your tank. And make sure you get it cut right.

Looks great! Looks like you got a shinier tile than I use so i was gonna ask about the claws slipping. Glad you like it! I don't use a UTH either since the tile give plenty of underbelly heat when warmed with lamps.
