I was looking over my baby IJ that escaped a few days ago and found a cut on him. It's on his side, all the way to the muscle, but the muscle isn't cut. The cut looks clean and not infected, and I put some polysporin on it. Also, he's eating well.

Is there anything else I can do? Should I be worried?

I would keep him on sterile substrate like paper towel to minimize the risk of infection.

if he has a clean substrate he should be fine! :)

I hope all goes well Zoe.
I had a stimsons python break into my hatchlings cage last year and ate 3 and butchered 4 more and I took em out and painted the cuts with betadien and put em on butecers paper which is lint free and stops em from getting those lil paper balls in the wound like you somtimes get from paper towels. All mine lived and are now good snakes but still have scars so expect it of yours as well!!
Cheers.

Rick.

I treated a corn before with some minor cuts on its side. I just kept it on paper towels. The cuts were cleaned with hydrogen peroxide and treated with polysporin daily.

If there is a sign of infection, take it to the vet. Hope this helps.
