Over the last couple of years I have noticed that in the hours prior to the first egg "pip"
The temp. in the egg chamber will rise up 1.5 to 2.5 degrees higher???
Has anybody ever noticed this or do I spend way to much time at home checking on my critters,eggs.blahblahblah...lol

Anybodys imput would be great,

No Mardy my temps are all controled by my computer and are monitored 24/7 . I checked the logs and found no marked temp increase. Was it a one off or have you seen it several times ?

It has been 2 years in a row. My temps in the incubator did not change just in the little rubbermaid container the eggs are in. And just
as the eggs were starting to hatch.

My temps are not controled by computer, and I add digitals in the incubator and egg chamber.

Yeah, all my clutches have increased (even colubrids). It seems to start about 5 days before they hatch. Sometimes its not noticeable though.

Its in some of the books as well. And it could be the reason Chondro eggs are difficult to hatch.

My only clue is maybe friction of the babies rubbing to get out of the egg is adding a bit of heat.

I think it has to do with them respiring more.
