how are the temperament of beardies? are they tolerant of handling? i like how my snake will sit on my shoulder and let me pet him and i wanted to know if beardies will act like this too? also what's the lifespan? thanks
Beardies have one of the best temperaments in the reptile world. They are very interested in human activity and enjoy being part of the fun.
Lifespan is very variable depending on just how inbred the animal is and on the proper husbandry. Anywhere from 6 years for the high-colored screamers with a lot of inbreeding in their background to a record of 35 years for an Australian keeper's animal.

My two beardies are very very tame. They even have their own leashed that they don't mind me putting on them at all. To go outside and take a walk or soak up some sun. They will let anyone hold them without running. If i do get them out they will just sit for hours either on my chest or my knee. If i get out my female towards her bed time she will lay nuzzled under my chin and fall asleep. If i don't keep my chin on her head she will nudge me until i do.
