Tried looking up info for myself but can't seem to find what Im looking for.

Is there any major differences compared to say a regular Columbian boa? size? temperment? care????

Any help would be much appreciated, Thanks.

It has been my observance with the ones in my collection that they tend to be on the smaller side than the columbians. As far as care goes I treat them just like my columbians.

The temperament is hard to say. I believe it just depends on the individual snake. I have aggressive and non aggressive of all my B.C.I. localities.

how many do you have? and when you say "on the smaller side" do you mean 6-8feet? 5-7feet? just looking for a general idea.

Thanks for responding so quickly

I have 5 adult Nicaraguans. As far as B.C.I. I have over twenty adult specimens.

My Nicaraguans are in the 5-6 foot range. At 5 plus years old.

My Columbians have for the most part maxed out at 9 feet. I have one male and one female at this size. They are around 10 years old. But the majority of my B.C.I. are under seven feet. With the males usually topping out at 5 to 6 feet.

Hi I have a pair but the person to talk to about this is Big Dan from Canadian Captive bred. He has all kinds of morphs.
Yes they do stay smaller then say a Columbian. 5-6 ft males Up to 7 for females. Very cool snakes one of my favorite locales. Mine have a good temperment but i guess it would have to do with the individual snake. Anything else you want to know?

Cool, thanks.... that pretty much sums it up for now. I've been looking to buy a boa now for a long time and now it's coming to the point where it's finally going to happen. At first I really wanted a Suriname (sp) boa... mainly just because of appreance (love the tails) but now since I've really been looking around I'm a little more open to any of the BCI's or BCC's..... I just haven't heard or seen much about the Nicaraguan's so I wanted to find out any major differences if there was any since I have a chance to pick one up.

They are pretty diverse and color and pattern can change drastically between specimens.

I think Im going to pass on this one.... I don't have a whole lot of space where Im at right now and my girlfriend doesn't want me to go overboard with the snakes right now untill we get a house so I gotta be really really picky about what I get next since I won't be getting anymore for a good while.

Think Im still gonna go for a Suriname.... thanks for the help.
