Snails

I have 5 snails, I caught them outside last night. Can someone give me information on how to care for them?

You can provide a moist but not to damp soil with dead leaves covering it. I have no idea what species but high 70's low 80's sounds about right for temp. Feed them lettuce and apples. Other greens. Spray there cage twice a day and they should be good.

Oh, I also want to know how to get them to breed and do they have eggs or live, Will I be able to raise them? When I post pics do you think you will be able to identify them?

all snails lay eggs so just keep them happy and they will have about 50 - 100 eggs and feed them only soft foods lettice, pears, soft things

Snails breed faster then you can think about. Trust me like turtlegirl said, just keep them happen. You'll be over ran by snails in no time!!!! My girlfriend absolutly loves Snails. When she was younger she had her "Git along little Dogie" snail ranch!!! She would play God and create a Psunami all the time, just to knock them off the walls. Wouldn't hurt them any, because a week later they had multiplied and were back all over the walls. These were normal creek snails, but I'm sure Land snails (which is what I'm assuming you have) wouldn't be much different.

Snails... Wonderful snails...
Keep them at room temp if you foudn them outside (duh, lol).
Feed them on peeled apples, peeled carrots, and maybe some lettuce if its washed well (pesticiedes).
spray a few times a day. Also, get a cuttlebone from your local pet store. They need this to get calcium, to build and fix their shells. Give them a small, shallow container with a little water (distilled) in it so they can stay moist. Damp paper towel, or nothing at all, works good for substrate, but provide a small tub of vermiculite or coconut fiber for eggs. They are both male and female parts (can't remember the english word, but the german is zwitter, lol), but the parts cant reach each other, so they need each other. So if you have two snails, they can impregnate eachother and both will lay eggs. Should be easy :D
