I know mine isn't going to start purring or anything, but I guess it's just a reflex from having dogs.

LOL Yes, I always have. It's a show of affection. She seems to enjoy it as long as you stay mid-body away from head and tail.

I pet my ball python, it seems to like it. I don't pet my kingsnake because she gets all hissy and bitey and musky.

Yep my male Retic watches hockey with me & I'll end up stroking his head with out even noticing it.

I do it with some of the larger snakes, not excessively just a few strokes sometimes.

i dont pet their heads, they jerk their heads away if u do.

i have a cat and dog and its hard not to pet the snakes alot hehe
