This may sound really stupid but i just got a new log hide for my Bp and i don't know the best way to clean it, could anyone help with this?

A real wood log? If not you could easily wash it with a 1:10 bleach:water solution then rinse thoroughly afterwards. Another possibilty would be to boil it in water, again if it isn't real. Just throwing a few suggestions at you...

I've heard that if you have a real wood log and you place it in the oven at like 200 degrees for about 30-40 minutes, that will cure the wood and kill any parasites that may be in the wood. Just be sure to check on it every so often to make sure that it doesn't burn. :ashes: But at that temp for that short of time it should be OK.

When you 1st get anything wood, lacquer the hell out of it so it is not porous anymore. Then cleaning becomes easier, and bugs and germs are less likely to try and live in it.
