I like to listen and make Hiphop music mainly, but i also like some bands to, rage against the machine (old stuff) and system of a down... I also like some jungle producers, like congo natty etc... I think the older you get the wider your tastes for music becomes. When i was 18 I used to vibe to bad boy bill and dj doc martin, paul e lopez, marcus, goldfingrr, slip and his brother slide, mystical influence, sniper, and the list continues.. but im out of the rave stuff now. Was fun from when i was 15 - 20 but havent been into that scene for a while now. But i used to hit a jam EVERY saturday and club at least twice a week for 5 years straight, but now the scene has gone to the kiddies.

i rarely go out to a club or "rave" only if thers a really good dj commin to town and well for me to consider a dj GOOD and to have a promoter bring one of them in are two diff stories....
what do you use for your production? i dabble a lil here n there with making tunes.....

Electronic: classic house, booty house, hard house, breaks, drumb n bass, and jungle are my main.......................
In addition, I like punk, hip hop, rap, classical, jazz, 80's, and little bits and peices of everything else............
Hahaha I hear ya, Dom! No pop here thank you. Don't like most of that mainstream crap you here these days, if I *have* to listen to the radio I flick it to the classical or jazz station.

Well, I wasn't going to post on this thread. Partially because I"VE NEVER HEARD OF MOST OF THIS STUFF you guys are talking about! :)
But now there's some stuff I recognize... David Bowie is prolly my all time favourite! Among others, Tom Petty, the Who, Diana Krall, AC/DC, Bob Marley, Prince, the Eurythmics, Paul Simon, lotsa big band stuff, motown, clasical, etc. The only country CD I own is Shania Twain.
Whenever I use an online radio station, it's Jazz. In the car, it's Classic Rock 103.9, the Hawk.
Ha ha! Jason H, I'm with you! C.C.R., Guess Who, AC/DC, Skynard, April Wine, Trooper, etc. In the car (if I don't have a tape or a cd of oldies) it's country. Drives my friends nuts! They can't understand a 20 year old female not liking Our Lady Peace...
I like industrial. KMFDM, VNV Nation, De/Vision, Funker Vogt, etc etc.

This old guy listens mainly to 70's hard rock and progressive rock. I just don't get the "new" music at all, especially rap.
My all-time favourite band is Deep Purple. I also listen to Max Webster, the older RUSH albums, Triumph, Neil Young, Pink Floyd, Cream, etc.
I've recently been listening to an English band called "Ozric Tentacles" who play a really amazing mix of ambient/techno/rock. They have a smokin' guitarist and are constantly changing the line-up of the band. They are about the only "newer" music that I'll listen to.
Rap, hip-hop,dance stuff that gets ya moving. Like bow-wow's cd's:cool: . thats bout it
alot of stuff...lets see, i was a bat caver in the 80's, so Siouxsie Sioux, Skinny Puppy, cure, the Damned etc is where i start....lets see...punk...Black Flag, Sex Pistols, Misfits etc.....rap & hip hop...Red man, Wu tang clan, Tribe called Quest, Cypress Hill, etc....metal....Black Sabbath, Metallica, Kyuss etc....trance, blues, Jazz, reggae......Misc....Deborah Harry, Nina Simone, Depeche Mode, Prodigy, Daft Punk, the Smiths, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Henry Rollins...oh yah...can't forget good ol' Jim Morrison.....the list goes on and on....
