now i know you guys probably see them all the time but i live in NW iowa and these species are very endangered up north.the chances of seeing 1 is probably 1 in a million.i was looking for garters on a hill with rocks and tall grass and i saw the grass move so i did a steve irwin and dove and grabbed it.and when i saw it was a skink i said something which im not going to say.then i took 100 pictures and then i let it go under a rock.i alo caught 8 garters.now all i need is a digital camera.
:) Get them scanned! Congratulations on your find! I've never caught a (wild) skink :)

Awesome!! What a lucky find. I live in PA and we don't have many skinks here, I've never seen one in the wild. There are only coal skinks around here and they might be all around me for all I know, they blend in so well!
Wow, that's something! They are the only lizard found here in Ontario and they are very rare.

Very cool find. they're extremely common here, but really hard to catch.
