I think they are VERY hard to keep, not good captive eaters. I caught a couple of them once down here in oregon and i can tell you they are cool snakes!!! Refuse to eat anything though. Maybe someone has had some luck with breeding them.....

They are hard to keep and hard to get to eat. But they are really awesome snakes! I have one large male now and i am looking around for a female. I would like to start a CB program with these snakes because there are so many people wanting to have one, but they are hard to come by, and hard to keep captive. I think that once people understand these snakes, they will become more popular in the hurp world.

There are a few people who keep these guys, I know of at least three males in BC being kept. However, they are "illegal" here so keeping them is on the downlow.

I beleive captive bred animals are easy to keep, of course they may be hard to get feeding as hatchlings but many snakes are. Rubber boas can be kept at room temp so thats a plus... They are amazing snakes!
