Polysporin, and as close to a sterile environment as you can have it in... definitely separate from any cagemates...
Out of curiosity, what bit his hand off?

One of his cage mates i assume.
How often should i put the polysporin on?? ex: twice a day?
Once a day should do it - apply a decent sized glob to the end once a day.
Bring him to the vet soon.

Thanx for the help!!!
I just noticed while putting on the poly. that his/her hand is still there but looks very bad. could it just be broken??
Best to get to a vet as soon as possible. Any bite wound that's broken bones or done a partial sever has put a lot of bacteria in that baby's bloodstream and s/he should really have an antibiotic injection to prevent gangrene from setting in.
Yes, it could very easily just be broken but those types of wounds don't tend to heal very well. Swelling often sets in after a few days, the hand tends to lose circulation and it often falls off after a little while. You need to be very careful about keeping as sterile an environment as possible. The cleaner the wound is, the less the risk of infection and increased swelling. Still, see a vet as soon as you can.
Good luck and let us know how the little one fares.

Well, the vet said that i have two choices, amputate is (almost $600 in total) or give it some anti-biotics($19) and let it fall of itself. he said that the bad thing about the cheaper choice is that it wont stop any bleeding so s/he may bleed to death. but he said it wouldnt hurt, s/he would black out (faint) and never wake up.
I picked the anti-biotics because i thought he could live through it.
What would you have done?
I would have asked him to put in a couple of stitches to stop the bleeding!! then the antibiotics.
Is this guy truly a qualified vet?

I don't know can you get a pic up so we can see exactly how it is. And maybe if you do i can take a pic to my vet and ask him what he thinks.
I really hope all goes well and he/she quickly recovers. GOOD LUCK
