We have 2 15 gallon critters filled with about 500+ crickets... it's alotta fun to take the egg carton out to catch oh 10 dozen for a customer while the entire herd is running your arm! ;)

I see to many of those at work .. we gothrough about 8 thousand a week!

Thats why I have only carnivores in my collection!

Has anyone ever had any success at breeding crickets themselves. I've tried, but they always end up killing and partially devouring each other...I hear they're pretty territorial.

Yeah! Here's a link to some great instructions:

I do basically everything the same, except I feed my crix the Adcham dry gutload with fresh fruits and vegetables for moisture. Be sure to keep both the crix and eggs warm (eggs humid, too) - I started out just keeping them in the basement with a space heater, but they were too cold. They eat and grow much better at a higher temp.

And ... make sure they have lots of egg cartons to hide in - that will prevent them from eating eachother. Keep the cages clean - I get the big egg flats from a restaurant - that makes it easier.

I really haven't started on my cricket breeding project yet, I just got a bunch of other stuff to feed my toads and figured that when I run out of mice, worms and stuff that I'd start (backwards, I know, because I need big crickets, which need time to grow). I should start soon though, I'm running out of food. When I do, I'll let you know!!
