Plz tell me wats goin on?

My corn is getting adjitated and shaking her tail, she started doing this after she shed and she eating as normal and was not hibernated this year and has never been hibernated. She is also striking at me when i go to pick her up and when i clean the cage. she is fed in a different cage also. I dont find any eggs and shes coiling in and aroun the water bowl and wont move much farther than 2 inches away from the water.

what are your temperature and humidity levels?

around 80-85 and humidity around 35-45 the highest i can get it with out covering the top and that makes it hotter. Night is around 75 and same for humidity.

my cornsnake went thro a rattling phase....( for no reason ).he has got out of it now...maybe its one of those things u have to wait for them to grow out of. Hope i helped :zi:

My Albino Desert King exhibited the same behaviour after I moved his tank to a different part of the room and then re-arranged the goodies in the tank.

We discovered though; that it wasn't the moving and re-arranging that did it, it was when we did the move. The tank was situated so that a thin beam of sunlight crossed the tank. When ever we walked by and broke the beam he would strike at the glass. Reflections, shadows?, I'm not sure but we simply moved the tank so that there was no longer a beam of light and everything was fine. He still exhibits this behaviour when I feed him and natural light is in the path of the feeding box. Now I feed him in a low lit room with no one around.

My little female corn rattles as well and nips at me the odd time. She is very healthy so it is probably just a phase. But if you want to be safe maybe taking a sample to the vet wouldn't hurt.

i put a towel on the screen and put water on the towel to raise the humidity a little. She is fine now i guess she was alitle dry and didnt want to be touched. She is a cool snake ill get some pics up soon. Thx for all ur sugestions. Humidity and temp are relativly better and stable now.

My corns rattle there tails when ever they get excited..like feeding time, after a nice shed, and even after a poop. T guess if it makes them feel good the tail will rattle.

I had read about this rattling behavior when I got my first corn but never experienced it until I got my Alice. She is a very excited corn and a total pig, she comes and takes the food from you!!!

When she is waiting for her food (in a feeding container) and sees her food coming through the tupperware she starts rattling! The first time I saw it I was a little surprised but it's so cute! She'll do it until her prey is at least halfway down, sometimes longer.

Tim: If your snake is hanging around the water dish a lot or soaking, take a look to see if you have mites. Snakes often relieve themselves from mites by soaking in the water dish.
