If gerbils can be fed , what about hamsters ? My friend just bought one for her kids & surprise , surprise !! 8 more popped out & so far she has only been able to give one away. If she gets stuck with them can I feed them to my corns ?

I feed all my smaller snakes Hamsters your corns will love them.I know many of other herp owners that feed there snakes hamsters But i dont kill hamsters to feed to my snakes i get them already dead. Because every time i try to breed them when the babys come out i end up giving them to the kid's around here for pet's and never end up with any left to use for feeders
You do want to watch out that the snake doesn't get stuck on hamsters. It doesn't happen with every snake but it can happen.

Tks guys . I have another question now. What are the best /most humane methods of killing home-raised snake food ?
Hammies are great for snakes High in protien moberate fat and really good fluid levels.Use them in a program of switching food items (from hammy to rat to mouse to gerbil) keeps the snake from getting hooked on one only.Well If they are pinks(this sounds bad but it works) plastic bag and freezer(very quick) for larger rodents the most humane way is co2 gas(not something most will take the trouble to do) or there is the good old cerebral dislocation method(round dowel pushed down on the neck from behind and rolled foreward to the head very quick)I would suggest you buy already pre Killed frozen(as a lot of people do not have the stomach for killing small rodents that they have raised) I wish you luck
