sliding glass track?

When making an enclosure what do you use to attach the track to the enclosure? because if i use nails then the glass might catch on the nail heads? do you guy's just glue them???

I used PL Premium Polyurethane Construction Adhesive available at Home Depot. Make sure to give plenty of drying time to get rid of the vapours.

I use wood glue and/or silicone. Works like a charm.

I've used the nails without problems. You just have to use a hammer and punch to sink them flush.

no more nails is a good adhesive, but I usually predrill and use small finishing nails or screws for security.

Does anyone know of any sites that have designs on that I would be able to follow to build my own?? I've got a basic plan drawn out but I'm just looking for advice really on where and how to fit the thermostat. Any advice would be appreciated. I've been advised that there should be an air vent low at the warmer side and an air vent higher at the cooler side. Is this correct. Also can someone advise me on humidity control for a viv for a common boa, is it required?? Thanks Mike

In what section at Home Depot do you all find the track????
I have been to three different HDs and two Lowes and no one in the stores seems to have the slightest clue as to what I am talking about!

Actually I work for home depot (buyer) you can find the tracks in the window and door section usually they are merchandise them beside or near the plexi glass. I bought the urban gecko video it goes into great detail on how to build a rack. Thanks for everyones response no more nails worked perfectly.

the tracks I have in my big cage have nylon wheels in them to prevent the glass from actually coming in contact with the track. This makes for a smooth moving door and no chipped glass due to debris in the track.

I know i have a link to a seller of this track somewhere. When I find it I will post it.

I found the rolling track and I have that on our bigger cages, but I was hoping to be able to find some of that cheap plastic stuff locally for some other projects here.

I bought the glass track from a local window maker here as Home Depot didn't have it (or even know what it was). Since I bought the track it was like $1.50 a foot they cut and etched my glass free so it shouldn't chip and they even etched in 2 little door pull openers
