Hey what ever works right! We use the 10 gal method and it works better then our friends expensive incubator!
wheres the heat coming from?

lol, I live in New Mexico Xetox, heat is in long supply here without the need for electronic supplement (cooling during daytime is a trick here). The actual temps under the cabinet vary from about 76-89 F with temps in the rubbermaid slightly more stable 79-85 F. From my records it seems they average a little under 83 F my usual cornsnake egg hatch is at 66 days a little long, suggesting the temps average a tiny bit low.

I think my pale Irish a** wouldn't last five minutes there! I think I could get a job at Red Lobster as a mascot though!

as a scot/irish myself I was born into the area, I tan very dark (makes my baby blues show well) but my/our color is different from most folks my skin tone being more a gold color that others in the area. But don't worry, we aren't so far out into the desert as to lack a red lobster here (but seafood in a landlocked State eeeeewwww)
I am glad to see you using almost the same method as I am right now....my temps are also fluctation in much the same range. I use a shelf in my herp room. Its great!

much better to invest in another snake instead of a $80-300 incubator eh Marisa

Ha ha, that's awesome Rev! I used to do corn eggs that way.
Let me ask you the question though: If you were incubating 10 Super Pastel Ball eggs, would you be happy with an 80% hatch rate? Because the loss of 2 eggs would be $40,000US.
Yikes.

Is the super pastel ball python the snake that costs the most right now? If not, what is it?
Do you have pics of super pastels?
reverend -isn't it bad for the eggs to have such a big temp range?

I'll bet when and IF Damon Salceies produces more albino GTP we will see the highest paid price for any snake ever found or produced.

I'm still not sold on an albino green reptile. You take the melanin out of a normally green snake or lizard, it it turns puke yellow. Look at the albino iggies. Uuugggly. Hopefully not though. Time will tell.

where can I get pics of super pastel balls or albino ETBs?
If you have an albino ETB won't it be normal colored with red eyes?

No albino Emeralds that I know of (yet), only Green Trees.
Super pastel pictures are everywhere. Try NERD's site, ballpython.com, ballpython.ca, queensnake, etc etc etc...
