What a looker! :D
Carrot tails develop as the babies mature.... although it's possible that Dan meant that the baby was produced by Ray Hine's carrot tail parents... just like any line bred trait, having parents that possess the trait doesn't guarantee that the babies will have it :)
This is Ember when I first got her:

She definitely developed more of a carrot tail...
Beautiful baby Dan! Congrats...

For those who have not seen baby carrot tails when they first hatch out Clownfishie is right. They develop their hypo color and carrot tails as they mature. They do not fully color up until about 4 to 5 months of age.
In the pic the gecko is only a day and half old or so. Many hypos are hatched almost indistinguishable from normal leos but start to lighten up right away and within a week or so they look completely different. Much lighter and brighter. This little guy hatched out very light and orange already that is why I predict he will mature into a really nice adult.
This one came from Ray Hine Line hypo carrot tail parents and should develop a nice carrot tail as well.
I will post picks as he matures and you will see how much they change as they age.
Within the next month those purple bands will be gone and he will be solid orange and the carrot tail will begin to develop.
Thanks

How much do carrot tails tend to cost? Baby vs. adult?

It's gonna be very fun to see as this little guy changes colors!!
I will have many hypo and superhypo carrot tails available at the end of Aug beginning of Sept.
Prices will be determined at that time and be dependant on intesity of orange, amount of carrot tail amount of dark spotting etc.
They will be well started and 100% sexable no temp sexed babies.
I will also have some hypo carrot tail 100% het for Rainwater albinos in limited quantities.
Next year Hypo and super hypo tangerine carrot tail Rainwater albinos.
Thanks

Why did you choose to do all this stuff with the Rainwater albino gene and not tremper or bell?
Hello Snowsnake
I just personally prefer the Rainwater Line of Albinos. Do not get me wrong there are alot of good quality Tremper line animals out there but when you compare them in the flesh I think the Rainwater albinos look better.
They have also not been worked with as much as the Tremper strain and we are just now starting to produce the various pattern mutations in the Rainwater line.
I think a super hypo tangerine carrot tail Rainwater albino would be awesome.
Take care

How can you get a super hypo albino? super hypo meens there is a big reduction of melanine in the leo and albino meens there is none. How can you have fewer of something that isnt there?
Do you have some tangerine, orange banded, yellow banded and jungle rainwater albino leos?

Snow -- my impression of what hypo means in an albino is more of a reduction in pattern than a reduction in melanin.... in other words, the albino would have very little in the way of banding....
I don't know if I'd actually call her a hypo (that is assuming that my definition is correct ;)), but Serenity does have very narrow bands compared to my other albinos....

I would think that the super hypo meens it has much less brownish spots on its' body.
Hello Snowsnake
I agree you have a lack of melanin in a hypo or a super hypo but what other colors do you have????
Check out this pic and let me know if you figure it out.

Hey Dan,
It meens you got rid of the brown blotchs?
Can i see pics of your orange banded, patternless and reverse striped rainwater albinos plz?
thanks!
SnowSnake
Here you go snow
Basically if yuo produce a hypo tangerine albino you have a solid orange or close to solid orange gecko with a white background. The added bonus would be the carrot tail and that is what I am after.

hey Dan.,....are those some of my girls from last year? looking good!
Going along with the rainwater thing. There is still alot to be done with rainwater albinos. Not many people working on outcrossing the different morphs out there. Heck you rarely even see jungle rains out there. I personaly am working on a few projects with rainwaters as well. I also wanted to mention that the carrot tails and crosses usually tend to have carrot on their tails that shows up later. Also alot of tangs I have noticed start of with that neon yellowish orangish coloration. Its really a hard color to describe but if you bred them you know what I am talking about. Nice looking gecko Dan.
