Hello all!
I am very excited to inform you that my female crested, Sambuca, has laid her eggs. Not only are they her first eggs, but they are my first eggs as well! I found them yesterday at about 4pm, and they couldn't have been in there for more than a day. I have moistened some vermiculite, and placed them in a deli cup inside my incubator. My incubator is homemade, and is holding fairly well at about 78-81F. I got the pair, Rafiki (the male) and Sambuca at the TARAS fall show in September, and they were born last December, making them about 17 months old when she laid. She worried me a bit because she took her time laying. I was told it would take about 4-6 weeks, and the date I put them together was March 10, making it about 8 weeks from possible conception. Sambuca is a fairly plain tan gal, and Rafiki is a slightly lighter guy with some dalmation spotting. She laid 2 eggs, measuring 2.6cm by 1.1cm, and seems to be fine. I will keep her seperated for at least 2 weeks and feed her plenty before I put her in with Rafiki again. I took a couple of pictures, which I will hopefully be able to put up in a while. Thanks for listening,
Mike

I've hatched dozens and dozens of cresteds at 78-80. I don't understand where you heard they had to be incubated that low, but the information is faulty.
