Hello, i am getting a baby cal. king very soon and i have a few questions about feeding:

How often should i feed the pinkies? (ive heard once a week and every 3 days)

When using a seperate container for feeding, is there a possibility for regugitation when placing the snake back into his regular cage?

and

Is their a need to dip half the pinkie in a vitamin or calcium supplemet to insure proper growth?

thanks in advance

Well most all those things are up to you.

Every three days is a little much but hey....but normally every 4-7 days works good. I fed my little guy every 5 days when he was young.

Seperate container feeding....go ahead. It won't make him regurg...and will keep him off the substrate. Just lift him up gently when he is done. Or use a container small enough to fit right in the cage.

You don't have to supply vitamins, I never have and everyone is doing swimmingly. Some people say you should but most say they don't. Sometimes too much vitamins can also be a bad thing. But if you want to, every other time or 1 out of three shouldn't hurt. But its not needed.

Alex, the most frequently encountered problem with oversupplementation is with Vit A. Some supplements use Beta-carotene instead which is a better alternative, as it's a free form of Vit A and won't build up in the snake's system.

I would say go for vitamin suplementation but infrequently, as Marisa mentioned.

okay, i have 2 kinds of vitamin stuff for my bearded dragon, one is Fluker's Repta-Calcium, which in the ingredients says it does not contain vitamin A at all, the other Repti-vite stuff has Vitamin A so i guess ill go with Fluker's stuff.
