What's the difference between a leucistic and a blizzard? I've seen pictures of both and they look very similar, although I'm not sure about the colors cuz I'm a bit colour blind.

Patternless (Dont say leucistic!!! The real name is patternless) is a leo with no spots at all on its' entier body, Usually it a a nice yellow body with a somewhat lavender tail.
Blizzards are aupposed to be all white, but some adults show a tiny bit of pale yellow varing with the individuals.

So can a Blizzard be considered a type of patternless?

Patternless leos are usually yellow and can sometimes have spots. They are also easier to breed. Blizzards can be all white, or white with beight yellow, or a dark purple and have silvery eyes. If I remember correctly, msot patternlesses have red eyes....i think.

ok, Emily, you have one thing right in what you said: "Blizzards can be all white, or white with beight yellow, or a dark purple and have silvery eyes"
I will correct what you have wrong:
- "Patternless leos are usually yellow and can sometimes have spots"
Patternless have NO spots or black on their entier bodies. And they can be yellow or a yellow olive color.
-"If I remember correctly, msot patternlesses have red eyes....i think."
Since a patternless isn't a form of albinism they don't have red eyes.
-"They are also easier to breed. (Patternless)"
Why do you say that? Their apparence makes no difference on how easy the are to breed.

Patternless leos (as adults) are varying shades of yellow, and tend to have lighter heads and tails (generally a pale lavendar colour) -- as babies, they ARE born with a pattern (not spots per se, more like blotches) that fade as they mature until as adults they're a uniform yellow colour. Sometimes pale yellow, sometimes brighter, sometimes more olive coloured. As a side note, patternless leos used to be called "leucistics" -- this is no longer the correct term, as patternless leos are not actually leucistic.
Blizzards are (ideally) pure white, although quite a few have a yellowish tinge to them. Depending on their mood/temperature, they may turn kind of greyish/purpleish.
This is a patternless:

If the real name is patternless then where did they get Leusistic from.
Years ago when the first patternless Leos were produced the original breeders thought that they were the leucistic form of the leopard gecko because they did not know better.
These were actually what is now correctly termed a patternless. Patternless babies are born with a yellow background and burgundy spoting or blothes. As they mature these spots fade and you end up with a leo without pattern usually ranging in color from bright yellow to olive green.
Blizzards would be closest to a true leucistic form of leopard gecko. Leucistic animals are white(offwhite) with blue or black eyes. When these were first produced by the guys at prehistoric pets in the U.S. they did not want to confuse the issue by calling it a leucistic (which it is) because this name was already being used for the patternless leos. Therefore they came up with a catchy TRADE name Blizzard Lizard.
A little bit of Leo history.
Take care

You are so right clownfishie!! My blizzard is so funny, in the day he is purplish white and when he is scared he is bright white! I love him a lot even if he has quite the character!! :P

P.S. When will you have your available leos on your web site Dan? Where can we see your available leos?
Trust me I am working on it. LOL
But I have a hectic day job as well as having to look after my zoo at home.
I have around 200 plus hatchlings out right now and am just growing them up a bit.
I hope to have the rest of the site done within the week and then I will start snapping pics of the leos available and posting them on the site.
