Wahooo!!! :D He's finally here... brought him home this morning! I'm so excited, it was starting to feel as though it was never going to happen... LOL :) He's absolutely adorable, and gorgeous -- much smaller than I thought, but then again I really had no idea how big an 8 month old chondro would be... hehe. Man I can't wait to see how he develops!!
Please excuse the multitude of pictures *grin*... apologies to all dialup users ;)

LOL Tim -- yup, he's about 8 months old... although I don't actually know if he's a he or not, so I wont' be rushing out to buy a female ;) You're really not supposed to sex them until they're at least a year old, so I'll have to beg someone to help me when that time comes -- LOL :) Maybe... Jeff? *grin*
Yeah, the blue really showed up in certain lighting Jeff... I was carrying him all around the house in the container taking pictures under different lighting... LOL :) We've got some flourescent, incandescent & sunlight in there... with flash and without -- I'll have to keep experimenting until I find the right lighting to show him off properly :)
I was pleasantly surprised by him too -- didn't even try to tag me once! Maybe too stressed out to... hehe... I ended up just sticking him into the tub stick and all... he was still on there when I headed over to my grandparent's place for dinner tonight, but when I got home he was out and about on his new perch :)
He is so cute! Very lucky to have such a nice snake!!!! nice photos too!

Thanks Marisa!
Cranwill -- LOL. Yeah right ;) Maybe in a little while, when we've learned to trust each other a little bit ;) The gloves are going to be on every time I'm near him at this point *grin* -- he might be little, but he's still got big teeth!

Very awesome! He has some sweeeeet color! Do people handle their chondros? Or are they just viewing snakes? Good Luck with him!

Thanks Madhatter :) For the most part, chondros are display animals -- some don't mind being handled, others are downright nasty. Especially when they're young, you have to be careful when handling them because their spines are quite delicate... most people just leave them alone for the most part until they're yearlings, and then start handling them a bit more....
Hey Jen!! :D
I'm so happy for you that he finally arrived ad in good shape!! Best let him acclimatise the coming week and make sure he is acting well
This will be an exciting week for me as well with my 2003 wamena x biak clutch hatching!! Very cool to see how many will crawl from this large cluster of eggs  I'd better get some moe cages ready!! :D

Hey Jen,
Marc, me too!! It's going to be hard to leave him alone -- LOL All day I couldn't wait to get home from work to see him... hehe. Sad, huh? Congrats on those babies!! Man do I ever want one of those "wameniaks" Those yearlings that you had up for sale were just stunning! Wish I could afford one... *note to self -- must win lottery so I can afford more chondros*... hehe....
I can imagine! But I'm sure he won't mind you admiring him ;) And yes, we should keep these types of behaviour to ourselves as chondroheads ;) Thanks, the babies aren't here yet though so I'm anxiously awaiting the next days!! I'm sure that there will be some babies, but I can't tell how many of course (fingers crossed please guys ;))
And thanks! They are becoming quite stunning now they are changing! It'll be very interesting to see what this pairing will bring so the development and potential of the upcoming babies can be predicted better since it;s a short line of genetics due to only these two parents (being pure) being crossed to each other. I hope you win the lottery soon for more chondros, but you vcan be happy with the one you have right now! I hope he grows to be a big beautiful adult!! :D
