Hello all. I'm Mark and I'm new here. I'm from the Windsor, Ontario area.
At the moment I have no pets, but I have much interest in all aspects of herpetology. I try to go field herping whenever I get a chance.
I've really been enjoying going on a few field herping trips this spring.
Hi Mark, welcome to ssnakess.com. Do you go on herping trips around your area?

Edwin,
Thanks for the welcome. Yes, I do go herping around my area. I know of about 3-4 "hot spots", and I've been to one of them so far this year. So, I have a lot of ground to cover! :)
In my area one might find species such as Garter Snakes, Massasagua Rattlesnakes, Fox Snakes, Red Bellied Snakes, etc. So far this season I have only come across tons of Garter Snakes.
There is a Pelee Island trip planned in May very soon, but unfortunately I won't be able to make that one! :(
I'd love to venture out to Pelee Island some time (I live relatively close to it, but i've never been there).
Very cool, Mark. The only place I know of is Pelee Island www.wildsofpelee.ca ; never been there myself, but plan to go someday. I have visited a couple of hot spots in the past but had no luck.
Cheers,
Edwin

Welcome to sSnakeSs.com, Mark!
What kind of pets are you looking into getting, if any?

Thanks for the welcome everyone!
Rachel,
If I were to get a pet, I really wouldn't know what to get first! :)
As for snakes: I've always been a big fan of kingsnakes, milk snakes, and corn snakes. I guess out of those a corn snake would probably make the best starter snake.
