Well a good portion of this I most likely know already, but wanted to verify what i think and let others who may be interested to know learn at the same time. Anyhow, what are the healing procedures for:

1. Mouth Rot
2. Belly Rot
3. Mites
4. Not Eating for a Long Period of Time
5. Burns
6. Cuts / Injuries (minor / major)
7. RI

As well as anything else (injuries / illnesses) I have forgotten that may be useful to know.

1. Fortaz (Ceftazidime) for Mouth Rot
2. Fortaz (Ceftazidime) for Belly Rot
3. Nix mixed at 1 bottle/1 gallon of water sprayed on everything - snakes, caging...etc every 1-3 days for Mites
4. check husbandry, check for medical conditions, then try feeding live rodents for Not Eating for a Long Period of Time
5. Fortaz (Ceftazidime) for Burns
6. Fortaz (Ceftazidime) for Cuts / Injuries (minor / major)
7. Fortaz (Ceftazidime) for RI

Panacur and Flagyl for internal parasites at a dosage of 100mg/kg applied once and then again in 2 weeks.

I hope this helps,
Corey

Although as Corey mentioned, antibiotics can be useful, I wouldn't recommend using them for minor cases. All meds have a degree of impact on any system, no matter how mild the effect is, its best to avoid it if you can. A lot of what is listed can easily be treated topically in its earlier stages.

[B]1. Mouth Rot[/b/

Can be treated topically with peroxide and triple antibiotic ointment.

2. Belly Rot

Soak in betadine solution (diluted with water to the colour of tea) for 30-60 minutes, 1-2 times daily... apply triple antibiotic ointment to affected areas.

5. Burns

Same as above.

6. Cuts / Injuries (minor

Make sure area is clean and apply triple antibiotic ointment.

7. RI
Provide your ball python with an ambient temp of 95 degrees (this means NO cool retreat) and increase humdity. This will take a long time to clear up, treatment should be followed for several weeks after all symptoms disappear to make sure it is completely cleared. All species have different temperature tolerances, this is what is ok with balls.

my post was deleted It must be because I said somthing bad about a vet but till you have a vet kill one of your animals out of plain stupidaty you have no right to deleat my post I hate vets I would go in just for a checkup and I had to tell them what they were looking for.

I was riped off whenI baught my first ball python I paid 350$ for it, it was just a regular ball.

Anyway I braught in cause I was notacing a hint of RI and vets give Amicasin to snakes with RI witch works like a charm if you do it the right way.

Well this dumb nut vet who was a reptile specialist (so they say)
gave 3 times the recomended doasage. My snake died right there on the table in just a few min. Then he had the nerve to turn and tell me it was dead whed I braught it in it was just a mater of where and when it would kick the bucket it just hapend to be in his Office.

So because of supidnes I lost my pet and 350$ and no one was gona replace it for me.

So ya get some books and study every problem you can think off cause you need to know what is going on that vet room B4 you get there in other words you need to know how to fix the problem B4 the vet tells you what is wrong.

Yes I do respect the real reptile vets in big citys like montreal but we dont all have the cash to send our animals there.
