hey all, I like the size in Carpets, was into them awhile back but was broke. Ive been thinkin about gettin a red tail, but they have a SWEEEEEEET Irian Jaya at the local pet shop for 150, i might be able to get it for 120 tho. Great size, almost full grown. Its eating frozen and is healthy. But the main question is, has anyone ever experience any fasting with these? My 2 BPs fast sometimes and its SO frustrating. One of the main reasons I was thinkin about a BCI was because they rarely fast. Well thanks all!

My IJs are great eaters (though they dont like rats... GR), except one of my females who has stomach rot and is refusing to eat.
My big female did fast in the breeding season, though.

At any rate, I wouldn't worry too much. Ijs are good eaters, and you shouldnt have any problems. If so, a live pinkie rat can liven things up! :]

Carpets don't really fast. Males can be sketchy eaters from Dec. - March, but Carpets a million times better eaters than BP's!!

Heh awesome! I might have to start savin for the one at the shop. Its awesome with some great color. Theres a male coastal for sale from someone off the local herpetology association forums for 125 but coastals get a little too big. So I think I'll stick with an IJ.

IJ's are cool man. ANd now that they are being captive-bred, there's some really nice patterns/colors floating around out there! Good luck. :D
