I had two young corns housed in this thing. It worked fine for my young BRB's but one corn found that the gap was big enough to slip through, funny how I thought other wise.

I've put out 4 pinkies inside small hide boxes spread around the room. I'm hoping to find him in one when I get home Saturday night. I sprinkled the room with baby powder hoping to pick up the trail. I also placed a water bowl at each end of the room. Any other thoughts or tips?
Thanks,
Trevor

how big are your corns??? i have had small ball pythons escape. but are these guys smaller that 1 foot? sometimes if all fails time will tell. the last time i found my ball python he was behind my stero. and befor that i had to go pee at like 3 AM so when i came back to my room he was sitting in the middle of the floor slithering around. but you might also what to try to put heat lamps around too.

The corn that got out is about 17 grams.

I've seen thos plastic drawers you're using and decided against them cos they are pretty loosely fit and many species of baby snakes can get out from them.

Baby snakes can be a pain when they escape as they can get into virtually anything. I do hope you find yours though. Good luck!

Uh oh....17 grams? Thats small! At that size, he can probably even slip trhough a crack in the floor and be gone forever! Like Vanan said...good luck finding her :s

He was found in the closet at the end of my herp room a few hours ago. Poor thing was stuck to a piece of packing tape. It took some time but I got it off and the snake is now resting in a hospital tank. The closet is now secure.

congrats on finding your snake back

yeah I too agree that those containers aren't good for corns. Even those tubberwares like Sterilite and Rubbermaid lids are not too save for them. That is why I always have something to cover the lid.

Corns are escape artist...you'll never know how they get out....even if a small crack they can get out...

hope that you're more careful next time!!!!

Vic.....you're totally lucky that your neighbours didn't get you into any trouble...and moved instead of sewing you......you're a lucky guy.....

I plan on using them for my baby IJs when they *prays* hatch... I can't see a huge gap but do you think it will be okay?

Zoe,

I was oringinally using it for my neonate Brazilians and it worked fine until they out grew it.

I had a snake escape once. I just put a heater but covered it so the snake couldnt touch it and get burnt and i put a towel near it. the next day i found the snake laying under the towel.
