is it ok if i give my snake Tap water? or must it drink fresh distilled water?
Haha, opps, wrong button!!!
My reply is the one right above this thread, my bad!
I've been giving my snakes tap water and I haven't seen any problems so far. I'm not too comfortable with this arrangement though cos the water quality where we live fluctuates being good and bad. I sometimes use boiled water and am hoping to get spring water for them soon.
DO NOT use distilled water. Distilled water is void of minerals and will drain your snakes out through osmosis.

If you drink the tap water, then it's probably ok for your snakes. That's the general rule I use. Othewise, I buy big jugs of spring water for them.
I fill up a gallon milk jug with water and let it set for a day before I use it......that way alot of the clorene evaps out. But yea the general rule is if you can drink it they can!
Not necessarily the case always. Reptile immune systems are different and slower than ours. We may develop a resistance to certain bacteria but to a snake it may affect it drastically. Always monitor closely when in doubt of offering something to eat or drink.
For instance, last year Katt contracted a mild case of Jiardia ssp infection from our tap water. I was fine and so were the snakes. Ya never know!
