What is a type of corn snake, that is relatively available and in-expensive, that stays fairly small.
Thanks in advance!

Normal corns are fairly inexpensive. I bought het. striped albino's for $40 so the normals should only run you about maybe $30-50 CDN for young depending on where you go. If you purchase one from a pet store it may run you approx. $50-70 CDN with taxes. These prices are probably not exact but this should give you an idea and they will grow about 4-5 feet. Hope this helps.

you can get some really pretty normal corns, so dont think just cuz theyre "normal" theyre boring!! :) you can get them over here for as little as £12!
but if you want something a little more "unusual" other corn morphs dont really cost all that much more! so you may as well shell out that extra few £/dollars!
Corns don`t very much in size or behaviour between the varying colour morphs...when buying, obviously check the animals are healthy and simply go for the one you think looks nicest.. when i got mine i visited the shop several times - to get advice, see the stock and to get the bits i needed to set up a viv. Each time i`d gone in my eye had been taken by Amels ( similar to normal but lacking black pigmentation) but when i actually went to bu ymy snake i chose a beauty of a pink-and-white Snow corn , which i named Chione after the greek goddess of snow! kind of fitting hey :)
50 dollars will get you a beautiful volcano cornsnake! I am friends with the breeder. His website is www.thereptilerainforest.com and he is one of the few people that breeds them. We are in Ontario too, near Ottawa.

I don't think you can do much better than this for a "normally" colored corn snake. Inexpensive, and easy to care for they will most likely stay under 4'. I'm not sure what hatchlings go for in Canada, but would imagine them to be one of the most inexpensive snakes available. But please don't purchase any animal with just the initial expense as the main reason for buying. Just because you can buy an animal for very little, does not make it "disposible". The notion of "I'm only out $10. if it dies" is not a good one. Educate yourself (these forums are terrific!) and have fun with the hobby.

Nice corn Mark! Issit one of your classics? Or a normal? Damn! I hate using the word normal. I think no snake is normal.

I've posted this guy lots of times. Maybe I'd better get a new pic! Anyway, he's from Okeetee female x a w.c. male and I dub them "classic" since I believe they have all the looks of what I think of -when I think of a corn snake. I believe his mom to be gravid again this year with (I hope) is a nice clutch. I think last year she layed 24 good eggs. At around $15. they might be the best deal for a beginner. Or me!
