I was just wondering how big do leos get and a little of the husbandry that goes with them like tank or cage size heat lighting and such. And can you handle them ? Thanx AL

Leos grow to be anywhere from 8-12 inches snout to tail tip. One Leo can be house in a 10 gallon by itself and be fine through adulthood. 2 or 3 Leos need at least a 20 gallon-long sized tank and it goes up from there. They need a thermal gradient of 82-88 degrees during the day and 75-82 at night which can be achieved with under-tank heating and/or heat lamps. Their humidity requirements are very low. No misting is necessary but they do need a moisture hide to shed in. (plastic container with moist paper towel, moss or vermiculite). They feed on insects, crickets, mealworms, silkworms and superworms are good staples and waxworms can be fed as a treat. They tolerate handling very well but it is not necessary that they be taken out like some other types of lizards. They require no expensive UV lighting since they are nocturnal.

Take a look at the book "The Leopard Gecko Manual" if you decide a Leo is right for you for more information and ask lots of questions!
