View Full Version : Weird Spots on egg
I noticed today that there is a small patch of several little bluish-gray blotches on one of my eggs... I tried to wipe it off with a qtip but it didnt come off. Seems more like a stain. The egg seems fine other than that. What is it? How can I fix it? By the way, the eggs are 46 days old today, if that means anything.

if the egg looks fine besides the spot id wouldnt worry. id just keep incubating it.
Id leave em alone ... not sure what it could be - but at thsi point - there is nothing u can do but hope for the best..
Pray to the snake gods .. I am everynight?

I agree with everyone else. If it's not doing anything bad, chances are that it is normal:)
Nope Dom, my eggs are just a day or two older than yours.
HM! The spots are gone today! What the...?
Oh well, better that way I guess.

Probably just water spots...nothing to worry about unless they are in contact with too much moisture.

Zoe,
It sounds like mold. I wouldn't worry, as long as the egg itself isn't turning brown or anything like that.
If its mold .. I have had AMAZING success and heard by many that foot pwder.. antifungal .. with not medicin it it is very affective..
I tired it on one of my fertiel eggs that was growing some mold and my infertile fully molded eggs and it got rid of all of it in a matter of a day or two..
I don't know how safe it is to use but I know it works.. I was desperate when i used it..
Any one have any thoughts on this?

Zoe, don't bother with anti-fungal agents 50 days into incubation. Holy moly.

I always sprinkle a little Gold Bond footpowder on the spagnum I put my eggs on, never hurt and never got any mold/fungus.
