Hi everyone!!!

I need your help identifying this species of lizard. In the petstore, it was tagged as "Green Tree Agama/Japalura Splendida"

The more I do research on this species, the more I realise the lizard in the pic is NOT a splendida! So I am asking all the pros out there to give me a hand and help me identify this beautiful lizard!

Thanks!!!

I am more than likely wrong.....
The head looks like a acanthosaura ssp. but the more I look at it the more I think J. p. ishigakiensis.

I'm almost sure it's not an iguana. The shape of the head, dorsal spikes and shape of the tail are not like ones of an iguana at all.

The green might look like that of an iguana's, but there are no dark brown/black stripes along the side. The scales are also very different, overlapping in an odd way ...
I'm really confused, I really don't know what this is!! loll!! Looks like a mix between a chameleon and an iggy!! loll!!

That is definately not Japalura splendida, but this is. I will try to help you figure out what type of dragon it is though! And it's certainly not an iguana!http://www.ssnakess.com/photopost/data/500/1812japalura_slendida.jpg It would be my guess that it is a gonocephalus species but I'm having a hard time trying to identify the exact kind! Definately not a basilisk

This is a Figi Island iguana. Much different. I am still hunting down the right gonocephalus species. Although, it is very much like green calotes!

Yeah, no doubt! I'm running out of ideas too. I searched Yahoo al night and I haven't come up with anything, plus I looked through all my reptile book, and still zip all. This little guy is gonna be a hard one, but I'm sticking to gonocephalus. I'm not giving up yet!

That beautiful little guy is a Calotes. Versicolor most likely, they change color much like chameleons! Judging by the bright green he/she is quite possibly stressed, as they are most commonly brown with green marking. Many people confuse Japalura with Calotes as they are almost identical and share the same habitats, but they are quite different. I would definately but that little beauty if i could!http://natureproducts.net/Animals/Reptiles/Calotes_versicolor400.jpg
