Yesterday I was at the local pet shop when I was asked to take this little High White Cal King out of her cage so that they could feed it. Everyone there hates to pick her up, as she is a biter.
Well I had time to kill as my wife was out doing a little shopping and was to meet me there in an hour. So with no fear, I dug around in the tank until I found her and picked her out of the tank. No reaction...no problem..or so I thought..5 seconds later she sized me up and figured I would make a nice meal and latched on to my finger. Well it didn't take long and the word was out that she had claimed another victim. With the tenacity of David throwing the stone, she held on as I calmly checked out new stock around the store.
20 minutes later it looked like she was tired of the holding game and she released. Took a quick look around (gotta make sure no one is looking) and then lined up and did it again. Well that put a couple of the girls into hysterics. "Are you sure you don't have to be anywhere soon, Jim?", blurted out one of them.
Well another 15 minutes went by and a quick trip into the back room with a F/T pinkie in hand, I dabbed a little drop of hand sanitizer on her nose and she released (quickly replaced with a pinkie to satisfy he needs). I would love to pick her up just to keep up my first aid skills but they simply want too much for this one. I may revisit the issue in a month to see if they will budge on the price. They definitely don't conceal the fact that she is a B#$%^, not great for the sales pitch
Jim :)
