This is an old entertainment rack that I got and am going to convert into cages. Don't mind the mess :)

That huge top one will be for my Uromastyx

The tall one here will be for a tokay I'm gonna get.
The other small ones will be just for holding 10 gals (If they fit inside there). I already have everything planned out on how to make the back for it and how to put sliding glass doors in. It's going to be very cool!

Oh, one thing I've not figured out is how I could water proof this stuff. Is there anything to put on there so it wont fall apart if it gets went?
looks pretty good. you could using a marine paint to try sealing.

Hey Jeff,
I have mentioned this before in another thread. Try a product called BIN. It is a primer that will give an excellent surface prep for paint on virtually any type of surface. Personally I would be a little careful with marine paint..most of these products are petroleum based (either epoxy or polyester) and you might have a gassing off problem. I would use a water based melamine paint after the bin treatment. I personally used this treatment to paint a kitchen counter top, two years ago and it still is showing next to no signs of wear, despite daily use. I would also silicone all joints and seams once the paint is dry..
Another way to do it, but it would be more labor intensive and probably more expensive would be to cut individual panels of white sheet plastic (I believe it is about 1/16 to 1/8 in thickness). This stuff is used to make the economically priced bathtub and shower stall enclosures. Check with your local plastics shops for more details. Simply cut to size,, install with construction adhesive and then again silicone all seams.
There's my .02 worth, hope this helps
Looks like it will be a nice project..best of luck
Jim
