I am looking into getting russian tortoises. I was wondering if anyone is working with this species? I have a pair of sulcatas and a pair of leopard tortoises. Are they are basically the same to keep? other than heat requirements?

Does any one know if there is a breeder in Canada?

Thanx
Ant

Ours eats like a pig, cruises around without abandon and digs everywhere, she's the cutest ! Makes a fantastic pet!

That fact alone makes it the "imperfect pet". These animals, as wonderful as they are, are not for everyone. They are "heirloom pets", which means you must take into consideration its life and care after yours is over. You must be sure that it will be properly cared for and provided for after you are gone, if there is any doubt to this, or your life is relatively unstable, then these pets should be avoided. Just because you really love an animal is not to say you should have it... there are a lot of animals I would love to keep, but realistically they are not suitable for my current status in life..........
