Hey, I was looking at a VERY nice looking normal leo at a reptile store. I am not planning on getting one for a while, a few months probably until iim sure i can care for one more pet. But the only problem is this guy was missing some toes. Is this a big problem?? It didnt look infected, just 2 on his left leg, and 3 on his front left. When i am to buy a leo should something like this stop me from buying a particular animal?? Thanks in advance
If it isn't infected and he still has some, it shouldn't affect him too much. But, they are still better looking with toes, and if he is missing some you can consider the fact that he could be sick, if he already has that problem.

my plated is missing toes off his back legs. from what i have read, inproper sheading can cause it. like if he is sheading and the dead skin gets caught around the edge of his toes and he can not remove it, as he grows, the dead skin constricts the toe until the point it dies and is ripped off... if it was wild caught he could be missing them due to injurys in the wild... if he looks healthy, he should be fine..

Atlantic is right. It makes climbing a bit more of a challenge for them. It is a symptom of bad animal husbandry - not having the right environment for a shed - so maybe the owners didn't do their research and there are other bad husbandry issues.

ok thanks. One more thing is i always see adult leos with big fat tails, should the babys be like that also? i know they're not gonna look like a little grass lizards tail or something but should they be extremely fat?
